The 5th Annual Stiletto "Run"
We are getting ready to host the 5th annual 0.5K Stiletto "Run" to benefit the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance on June 20th, 2012. Thats right--0.5K (point 5K) or half of a kilometer.
ALL ARE WELCOME--We struggled with the correct name as to not exclude those who don't wear stilettos, or those who don't run. In the end, it just came together best as the .5K Stiletto Run.
We use the word "run" loosely as we welcome all fun shoe wearers, walkers or runners--we assume most will be walking. However, true race tradition, we will award First, Second place prizes for the first two women to cross the finish line. First Place Mens, and Best Shoes will also be awarded prizes.
In order to be eligible for placing prizes, "runners" must be registered and complete the race in a shoe with a minimum heel height of 3 inches. Shoes may not be taped to the foot. Heel circumference must be a maximum of 1.25" diameter. No wedges. Heel height will be checked any one who places first, second, or third placerunners after race to qualify win.
All other runners and walkers, wear the most fun shoes to complete the run/walk!
Event Details
- "Run" starts at Bidwell and Elmwood at 7:00 pm sharp. Begin meeting at 5:30. "Run" will go straight down Elmwood to 801--in front of ShoeFly's storefront. "After" race party on Elmwood between Lafayette and Auburn from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
- "Run" - Wear 3" heels and compete for first second or third place prizes and tropies
- "Walk" - Wear your fun shoes and participate in the "run"
- "Watch" - race goes down Elmwood between Bidwell and Auburn.
- *NEW* A pre race pick up station will be set up on June 18th from 4pm to 7pm, location TBD.
- Most stores on the block will remain open late for shopping.
Volunteers
Stiletto Run is looking for volunteers to be involved at all levels before and day of the race event.
